South32 swings to H1 loss on low manganese, coal prices

BHP Billiton’s spin-off South32 swung to a loss after taxation of $1.7 billion in the first half of the 2016 financial year amid low prices for manganese and coal.

This compared with a $339 million profit after taxation in the first half of the 2015 financial year, the company said on Thursday February 25.
