Vietnam scrap market bearish on continued weakness in rebar

Steel scrap import prices to Vietnam fell in the week to Friday March 24, with mills there buying at a slow pace and maintaining low scrap inventories due to weak downstream demand for rebar, sources told Fastmarkets.

A cargo of around 30,000 tonnes of US West Coast-origin bulk scrap was heard sold to Vietnam at $460-465 per tonne CFR for HMS1&2 (80:20) last week.
