UG2/MG chrome ore rally slows; Chinese market awaits next ferro-chrome tender price

The rally in UG2/MG chrome ore prices slowed during the week to Tuesday May 23, with Chinese buyers holding back on the expectation of an increase in port inventories and as they awaited the release of the June-delivery ferro-chrome tender price, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ weekly chrome ore South Africa UG2/MG concentrates index, cif China edged up by $1 to $305 per tonne on Tuesday, from $304 per tonne one week prior.
