Turkish steelmakers keep their scrap purchases limited; prices remain firm

Turkish steel producers have continued to keep their deep-sea scrap bookings to a minimum due to sluggish steel demand and firm scrap prices, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday September 13.

A steel mill in the Marmara region booked a US cargo, comprising heavy melting scrap (HMS) 1&2 (90:10) at $382 per tonne and shredded at $397 per tonne CFR.
