Scrap trading in Taiwan limited by quiet rebar market
Spot prices for containerized scrap imported into Taiwan held steady on Tuesday September 26, with steelmakers keeping scrap buying at a minimum due to the silent domestic rebar market, sources told Fastmarkets.
“The domestic rebar market was mostly muted because of sluggish demand. End-users bought some volumes about two weeks ago and then went [quiet] again,” a mill source in Taiwan said.
